Rates are multipliers that increase the base values for experience gain, Yang currency drops, and item drop chances relative to the original game. For example, a rate of x5 means you earn experience five times faster than on a standard server.
Low-rate servers (x1 to roughly x10) replicate the original pace of Metin2, where reaching higher levels and obtaining rare items takes considerable time and effort. High-rate servers (x100 to x5000 and above) accelerate progression dramatically, allowing players to reach end-game content within hours or days rather than months.
Players new to Metin2 often benefit from a mid-rate server in the x5 to x50 range, which shortens the early levelling grind while still preserving a sense of gradual progression and the value of in-game items. Very high rates can make the early game feel trivial and reduce the meaning of individual achievements.
The rate largely determines the pacing of the entire server experience: low rates favour long-term investment and community building across the three kingdoms, while high rates suit players looking for fast-paced competition and frequent character resets on seasonal or event servers.
