Classic or oldschool Metin2 servers recreate the game as it existed roughly between 2008 and 2012, before the Dragon Stone System was introduced in 2013 and before the Lycan class was added in 2014–2015. These servers typically use a level cap of 99 and exclude content added in later official updates.

Classic servers offer four playable classes (Warrior, Ninja, Sura, Shaman) and a simpler item progression centred on the Upgrade system and Metin Stone farming, without DSS alchemy, Lycan, Champion Levels, or modern costume and pet systems. Modern servers include all five classes, cap 120, Champion Levels, DSS, and the full range of content from subsequent official updates.

Classic servers appeal primarily to players who experienced Metin2 in its early years and want to revisit that atmosphere, as well as to those who prefer a more focused gameplay loop without the complexity of later expansions. If you value a slower pace, a tighter item economy, and kingdom wars as the main end-game driver — an oldschool server is worth considering.
